01 - 1 wheel Brie cheese, approximately 8 oz
02 - 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

03 - 3 tablespoons fig jam
→ Pastry
04 - 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen
→ Garnish (optional)
05 - 2 tablespoons chopped toasted walnuts or pecans
06 - 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
07 - Crackers or sliced baguette, for serving
# Directions:
01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Set the puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Place the Brie wheel at the center.
03 - Spread the fig jam evenly over the surface of the Brie wheel.
04 - If using, sprinkle the chopped nuts and fresh thyme leaves over the jam.
05 - Lift and fold the puff pastry around the cheese, pleating edges to fully enclose. Pinch seams to seal.
06 - Brush the exterior of the pastry with the beaten egg to ensure a golden, glossy finish.
07 - Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the pastry is puffed and a deep golden brown.
08 - Allow to rest for 10 minutes before transferring to a serving plate. Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette.
